Sydney Stopover

My big European adventure had finally arrived!

My first of many flights - Hobart to Sydney

But first a two day stopover in Sydney to catch up with daughter number one and my gorgeous grandson!

We stayed at the Sebel Surry Hills hotel and enjoyed a wander round the streets of Surry Hills and Kings Cross. Lunch at an Italian cafe, where we tried a Nutella coffee – oh my, even Harry enjoyed the froth!

After searching for a nice restaurant for dinner, we settled on the in-house restaurant at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

My second night before flying out was spent at my new favourite budget accommodation – the YHA at The Rocks. I just can’t beat it for the price – $44.00 a night, including an ensuite. Again, I went in search of a nice restaurant for dinner, and came across a fantastic restaurant/bar tucked away in a hidden courtyard at The Rocks – The Argyle. What a find, it was a gorgeous place with a ton of atmosphere. I will certainly return next time I’m in Sydney.

Another wander around The Rocks, in and out of little streets I’d never ventured into – I found some great photo opportunities:

I couldn’t resist this last photo as I headed to Circular Quay station in the early morning for my train to the airport. Farewell beautiful Sydney!
